Over the past few days, we have all seen the impact within our communities regarding the potential presence of COVID-19 virus. As this situation continues to evolve, all of us are assessing how to best keep ourselves and those around us healthy and safe.
Advance Disposal remains committed to keeping their employees safe while continuing to service our residents and businesses without interruption. In the best interest of the health and well-being of Advanced Disposal's employees, the City of Berkeley Lake is suspending household bulk item service at this time and instructing residents to refrain from placing extra garbage bags outside of the cart. Those items may pose the biggest risk to Advanced Disposal employees because the virus can survive on some objects from inside the home up to 72 hours or more. Essentially, garbage collection will be contents of the cart only on a temporary basis. Recycling collection will be of contents in the recycling bin/cart only. Yard waste will be picked up on the regular schedule. Normal bulk item service will resume when the CDC lowers the risk factors.
