Absentee Voting
Absentee By Mail
Absentee ballots will be availalbe to be mailed 21 days prior to the election. Prior to receiving an absentee ballot, you must complete and return to city hall an application for official absentee ballot.  Once you have completed the application, you can mail it or hand-deliver it to city hall at 4040 South Berkeley Lake Road, Berkeley Lake, GA 30096 OR fax it to 770-368-8810. If you have trouble downloading the application from the above link, you may call city hall and request that an application be mailed to you.

The last day for the absentee ballot clerk to receive absentee applications is the Thursday before the election. The last day ballots are mailed is also the Thursday before the election. It is not recommended to vote by mail the week prior to the election becuase there is no guarantee that you will receive your ballot in time to vote it and return it by the deadline of 7:00 PM on Election Day. Any ballot received back after 7:00 PM Election Day will not be counted, regardless of when the ballot was mailed or postmarked (except Military and Overseas voters that qualify under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Voting Act may have ballots received through the Friday after the election). Voters may hand-deliver their own voted ballots to city hall by 7:00 PM on Election Day for tabulation.

Absentee In Person
Electors wishing to vote in city hall prior to Election Day may do so during normal city hall business hours, Monday through Thursday, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, beginning at least 21 days prior to the election. However, the last day to vote in the office is the Thursday before Election Day. No absentee in-person voting is available on the Friday or Monday before the election.

To vote in person at city hall prior to Election Day, you will have to complete and submit an application for official absentee ballot and provide proper identification. Once you've been issued an Official Absentee Ballot, you must vote then and there in city hall. You may not take a ballot from city hall.  However, you may request at the time of application that a ballot be mailed to you.
